Simulations of Johnson-Segalman viscoelastic fluids flows in shear-thinning regime

چکیده
Abstract This paper presents selected numerical simulations performed using Johnson–Segalman model with specific setting of the convected derivative resulting in shear-thinning behavior model. The results are compared generalized Oldroyd-B model, which is typically used to simulate viscoelastic flows. Both models solved an in-house finite-volume solver on structured grid simulating steady flow three-dimensional axisymmetric channel smooth contraction. presented here focus recirculation behind contraction and structure forces emanating from stress tensor.
